Director/Producer Michael Patrei heads up ILION FILM COMPANY.
Michael’s previous film, “BALLOU: a documentary film” is a 90 minute feature length documentary about the struggles and triumphs of an inner city high school marching band from Washington, DC. The documentary features interviews with Colin Powell, Jesse Jackson, Congressman John Lewis, Denyce Graves, Marion Barry, and Chuck Brown.
“BALLOU: a documentary film” has received national attention with a screening at the White House for First Lady Laura Bush along with featured stories from Good Morning America, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and ABC World News. It was also featured in the Syracuse International Film Festival, Arizona Black Film Festival, Black Earth Film Festival, NYC Urban World Film Festival, Philadelphia First Glance Film Festival, the LISTAPAD Film Festival in Minsk, Belarus, Anchorage International Film Festival, Honolulu Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, San Diego Black Film Festival, Macon Film & Video Festival, DC Our City Film Festival, Buffalo Niagara Film Festival, Hollywood Black Film Festival, and the Black Harvest Film Festival.
